Set of 6 antique topographical engravings of English stately homes. Originally drawn and engraved by the renowned Dutch artist, Johannes Kip. These engravings are part of his famous series of 80 scenes called 'Brittania Illustrata', printed in several editions in the early 1700's. These engravings are considered to be his best work and one of the most important topographical publications of the 18th century. The engravings are approx. 44 cm x 35 cm and the frame size is 70 cm x 61 cm Each engraving is double mounted and has a feature blue marbled border. An image of each scene is included. They make a very impressive display when hung along a hallway or grouped close together. The price for the set of 6 engravings in matching frames is $1,800 or $300 each (including GST).
