Description

Still life oil painting, signed ‘McNeil’ in lower right corner, set in an antique gilded timber frame.

The painting, titled ‘Images Of The House Of York’ and dated 1974 on the reverse, has been competently executed, especially in the use of the shadows.

The frame itself is a beautiful example of when frame-making and gilding was an honoured profession. This frame was made in the late 1800’s yet still retains the fine details of the corner decorations when so many frames become fragile & start to disintegrate by this age.

The painting is 59 cm x 48 cm.

The frame is 80 cm x 71 cm
