Description

A tall, antique chest of drawers finished in beautiful fiddleback Blackwood.

We believe this chest was originally part of a larger wardrobe that was converted to a more useful & smaller item at some stage in the mid-1900’s. It would have originally been built around 1910.

The top is solid blackwood and the drawer fronts are a figured veneer on kauri pine. The sides of the chest are also kauri pine and have been stained to match the blackwood colour.

The original handles were missing/damaged and so we have replaced them with reproduction handles to match.

The chest is very tall at 165 cm and you will need to be at least 180 cm tall to see in the top drawers. The chest can be lowered by 5 cm by removing the old metal castors.

The chest is 99.5 cm wide and 66 cm deep.

The makers name, M. Lindgren & Co., is clearly visible in the top, right drawer.
